The Lynx range of managed Ethernet switches are designed for simple use in heavy industrial environments, with an integral DIN-rail clip. Powered by WeOS, the Lynx range provides redundancy, serial RS-232 / RS-485 and fibre support, VLAN and IGMP functions. The layer 3 variants also provide a stateful inspection firewall, static and dynamic IP routing and IPsec VPN support for more advanced networks. The whole Lynx range has DNV approval for marine use and meets railway trackside standards.

Lynx DSS is available in several versions, the L105-S1 is a device server with a layer 2 industrial Ethernet switch, powered by the Westermo WeOS network operating system. Lynx DSS is the most compact and has the lowest power requirements in this class of device servers. Lynx DSS has 4 10/100 Mbit/s ports and one RS-232 port.

The Wolverine series of Ethernet extenders allow cost effective Ethernet networks to be created over long distances, at data rates of up to 15.3 Mbit/s. The SHDSL technology makes it possible to reuse many types of pre-existing copper cables. This can lead to considerable financial savings as expensive fibre cables do not need to be installed. Dependent on cable characteristics, distances up to 15 km (9.3 mi) can be achieved. Configuration of the DDW-120 is performed using only DIP switches, which ensures rapid installation.

DDW-142 Industrial Ethernet Extender

Westermo Ethernet extender technology based on SHDSL makes it possible to reuse many types of pre-existing copper cables which can lead to considerable financial savings when installing new systems. The Wolverine DDW-142 allows effective Ethernet networks to be created over long distances (up to 15 km (9.3 mi)) at data rates up to 15.3 Mbit/s on a single twisted pair cable. By using two pairs “bonded” this rate can be doubled up to 30.4 Mbit/s. The integral switch allows 2 Ethernet devices to be attached and an RS-232 port allows for a legacy piece of equipment to be incorporated into the IP network.
